This building was erected in 1951 as the first wave of Baby Boomers prepared to start to school. It is located on Twelfth Street on the east side of Birdwell Lane, at the end of Washington Boulevard—thus its name. Additions were built in 1954 and 1955 as the town grew rapidly, with several new housing developments going up in that area after the opening of Webb AFB. It is presently operating in the same location, much the same as when it was built. Washington was once again a recognized campus for the 2008-2009 school year.
