Big Spring Independent School District is committed to offering every student an excellent education that is challenging and that will prepare them to be productive members of society. We are equally committed in ensuring that all students, including students with physical and mental impairments, have equal access to these programs and facilities.

Section 504, also known as the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, prohibits the denial of public education participation, or enjoyment of the benefits offered by public school programs because of a child’s disability.

This website is designed to help our school district ensure all students have equal access to programs we offer and guarantee anti-discrimination protection for students who have a physical or mental impairment, has a record of an impairment, or is regarded as having an impairment.
If you suspect a student has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity and is in need of Section 504 accommodations, please contact your campus 504 coordinator.
